The Toppled Turtle is a family-run, independent microbrewery, and community hub, offering high quality, house-made beers and sodas and local wines in a fun, family-friendly, community-driven atmosphere with live entertainment and events.

We are a great place to meet, celebrate and socialize in Dumas, TX, the heart of the gateway to Colorado. Located in the historic Phillips Building and owned and operated by locals, J.L. and Ashleigh Wiswell, you can enjoy our laid back taproom, the kid zone just for the little ones, or enjoy the beautiful weather with your friends in our outdoor beer garden.

Our History

In 2017, the Wiswells purchased and operated Dodgeton Creek Brewing Company in Trinidad, Colorado. Quickly after, the Wiswells decided it was time to bring their passion for craft beer back home to Dumas to share with their family, friends and community. In 2019, TTBC's historic location was purchased and renovated throughout 2020. The brewery opened for operation in December 2020 and has been serving patron and visitor great brews every since.

The Atmosphere

When you come to the Turtle, you can expect a laid back, family-friendly atmosphere that celebrates community and artisanal craft brewery culture.

Our taproom is comfortable, our kids area is perfect for your little ones, and our outdoor beer garden is the perfect place for sunlight and fellowship.

Our Brewer

J.L. Wiswell is both the co-owner of TTBC and the brewer. J.L. has brewed beer longer than he's been allowed to legally drink it. He touts over 25 years of brewery experience fueled by a passion for craft beer. J.L. has received awards for his beer and is the one of the founding fathers of Texas Aggie Brew Club at Texas A&M University.

Ingredients

We use locally grown and sourced grain to make our beer. We are continually striving to find ways and ingredients to make our beer more local and support local business.
At TTBC we are truly artisan.
